What you'll do:

  • As an Executive Support Manager, you'll be the driving force behind our informal governance process, ensuring that key board meetings run smoothly and efficiently.
  • In this central role, you'll work side-by-side with the Chief Executive, Cabinet Members, and senior officers, managing complex schedules, providing project support, and serving as an essential point of contact for our leadership team.
  • Your ability to navigate the fast-paced and sensitive environment of the council will be crucial in supporting the leaders who are shaping the future of Southwark.
  • In our fast-paced, high-stakes environment, you'll provide first-class, efficient support that keeps the leadership team operating at their best.
  • You'll oversee a range of administrative and office functions, ensuring the smooth operation using your attention to detail, organisational skills, and proactive approach.
  • Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and integrity.

How will you make an impact:

We need a dynamic and experienced Executive Support Manager who is passionate about public service and driven to make a difference who will bring a blend of the following:

  • Executive Support with a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes for Senior Leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, you'll engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring positive outcomes for the Corporate Management Team Your expertise in Microsoft Office 365 will enable you to work seamlessly in our fully digital, agile workplace.
  • Skilled in providing a performance-focused supporting role, implementing effective strategies, systems, and procedures to drive continuous improvement.
  • You will be discrete and able to deal with sensitive and confidential information professionally, as well as a high degree of attention to detail.
  • A focus on continuous improvement, have a growth mindset and a collaborative, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintaining meticulous attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
  • Enjoy a balanced approach with flexible home working, alongside travel to our London Bridge HQ.
