Nursery Chef

We are working with an independent children s day nursery who are currently looking for a Nursery Chef for their nursery setting in Twickenham.

The successful candidate will ideally have had previous experience working within a busy kitchen environment and catering for large numbers, special diets, and allergies. Experience cooking within an Early Years setting would also be desirable, however, this is not essential.

Nursery Chef - Position Details

Your role will include:

• Preparing and cooking nutritionally balanced meals appropriate for under-fives
• Overseeing menu planning, ensuring the children receive a healthy nutritionally balanced diet
• Maintaining a safe, clean and healthy kitchen
• Regulating kitchen stock control and collating food purchasing orders
• Meeting health and safety and environmental health requirements at all times

You will ideally have:

• A current Food Hygiene Certificate and First Aid Certificate
• Sound knowledge of food allergies
• Experience of cooking within childcare setting
• Proven experience and ability to organise, plan and cook nutritionally balanced meals for different dietary needs
• Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety requirements
