Autism Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant Fantastic School Wandsworth

An Outstanding School based in Wandsworth are on the hunt for an Autism Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism (ASD).

You will be tasked with supporting a wide variation of needs including Autism (ASD), PMLD (Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), Speech and Language (SP&L) and more! The students' needs vary in severity some will be verbal, some non-verbal. If you have any experience with children aged 4-18 with SEN (ASD, PMLD, SLD etc) we would love to hear from you! This does not have to be direct school experience; any transferrable skills will be considered.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Autism Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Support students with SEN on a day-to-day basis (ASD, PMLD, SLD, SP&L and more)
  • Primary & Secondary opportunities
  • Liaising with Class Teachers and the SENDCO regarding progress of children
  • Provide a stimulating and safe learning environment for children
  • Delivering specialist interventions
  • Liaising with the school's therapists
  • ASAP Start - Full Time
  • 100 - 110 per day - Term Time Only
  • Located in the Borough of Wandsworth

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Autism Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Experience of supporting children (4-18) with SEN - Autism, PMLD, SLD, SP&L - Ideal
  • Childcare related experience, ideally with a SEN focus - Ideal
  • You MUST be resilient, patient, calm-natured, empathetic & adaptable
  • A hardworking and drivenindividual who will exceed all expectations of the role requirements
