Role: Female Domestic Abuse & Mental Health Worker

Based: Hampshire (multiple locations)

Hours: Eastleigh, Winchester and New Forest OR

Basingstoke, Hart & Rushmoor OR

Havant Gosport and Fareham

Salary: £24,969.60 - £25,614.24 (pro rata for part-time)

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Permanent

Essential: Full Clean UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle

Our client, a well-respected charity dedicated to supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse, is looking for a highly organised Domestic Abuse & Mental Health Worker to join their team. This charity operates across Hampshire and Portsmouth, providing crucial services to help victims and survivors of domestic abuse achieve safety and well-being. They are committed to empowering individuals through comprehensive support and advocacy.

Synopsis of duties:

  • Provide support, advice, and assistance to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse and mental health issues.
  • Develop recovery-focused Support Plans and conduct safety and support planning and risk assessments.
  • Offer advocacy and support around unhealthy behaviours and provide parenting and family support.
  • Work closely with local Mental Health teams and other professionals to ensure a coordinated community response.
  • Participate in the "Front Door Service" and High-Risk Domestic Abuse (HRDA) meetings on a rota basis.
  • Maintain accurate records, write reports, and undertake administrative tasks.
  • Participate in the on-call out-of-hours service rota.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with clients with complex needs, including mental health
  • Experience dealing with high-risk clients and providing support in stressful situations
  • Advocacy experience and developing new services for individuals and families
  • Commitment to client empowerment, equal opportunities, and flexible working hours
  • Understanding of domestic abuse issues and the needs of victims/survivors
  • Awareness of partnership working, safeguarding, and confidentiality practices
  • Knowledge of legal and housing issues affecting families escaping domestic abuse
  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service would be advantageous
