SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Fareham

Salary Scale: £76.92 to £103.04 per day

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

GSL Education are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to undertake a position at one of our schools in Fareham. We are looking for someone with a passion for supporting diverse learners and expertise working with students who have Special Educational Needs. Your empathetic approach and dedication to tailored learning will help cultivate an inclusive classroom, empowering students to succeed both academically and emotionally.

SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Implement strategies to support students with diverse special needs particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs to help them reach their maximum potential.
  • Cooperating with teachers and fellow SEN Teaching Assistants to foster an inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Utilising various methods to encourage positive behaviour and active participation in learning activities.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment by assisting with behaviour management and fostering a sense of belonging among students.
  • Offer personalised one-on-one assistance to students with special needs.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with parents and other professionals.
  • A patient and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.

To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
