Job description

Seeking an Estates Project Manager to join Farnborough Airport.

Hays Property and Surveying are working with Farnborough Airport on an exclusive basis to recruit an Estates Project Manager to join their in-house Projects Team.
Farnborough Airport Limited (FAL) is Europe's leading business aviation airport and the home of British aviation. FAL handles approximately a third of London's business aviation traffic and is the largest in the UK. FAL has an iconic, state-of-the art infrastructure which is tailored to business aviation and focused on delivering a world-class customer experience.

The airport has now begun it's 12-year masterplan, with the aim of increasing its traveller capacity and improving its facilities. With this, FAL is seeking to appoint a new Estates Project Manager who will be part of a high-performing projects team and be responsible for leading the planning and execution of key strategically important construction projects across the airport's estate.

Your new role
As the Estates Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple estates and building related construction projects from feasibility to completion. Projects will range in size and value from minor refurbishments through to multi-million pound new build facilities. Here, you will be responsible for the technical, commercial and financial management of each project, including the appointment of external consultants and contractor teams. A key aspect of your role will also include regular stakeholder engagement, reporting regularly on progress, and ensuring key business objectives are met.
Key responsibilities -

  • Lead and manage multiple construction projects from initial feasibility through to completion.
  • Undertake project planning, design, contract procurement and appointment of consultant and contractor teams.
  • Prepare work schedules, define costs and set key project objectives and milestones.
  • Manage and lead external consultant and contractor teams.
  • Hold project and design meetings and prepare progress reports for board review.
  • Manage and ensure health and safety and project compliance is adhered to on-site.
  • Regular engagement and communication with key stakeholders to ensure key business objectives are met.

What you'll need to succeed
  • A relevant degree in a Construction discipline
  • Professional membership such as RICS / CIOB / APM, preferred
  • Proven experience of managing a variety of construction related projects from feasibility to completion.
  • Experience of working as a Construction Project Manager within a client side or construction consultancy environment
  • Sound knowledge of JCT / NEC construction contract forms.
  • Strong financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
