As a Payroll and Pensions Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring payroll operations run smoothly and efficiently. You'll handle all payroll and pensions-related tasks, adhering to processes and timelines. Your work will be essential in maintaining the accuracy and compliance of the payroll system, ensuring that payments are made on time to the workforce, HMRC, and pension organisations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the effective and smooth running of the payroll function.
  • Process all payroll and pensions tasks in line with agreed processes and timescales.
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties related to pensions, supporting the Pensions & Payroll Specialist and Financial Controller.
  • Assist other members of the small corporate team as needed.
  • Process payroll for 250 employees, ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation and NHS Pension Scheme rules.
  • Support pension-related tasks, including handling starters, leavers, and changes, and managing monthly and annual reports.

What They're Looking For:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in processing a payroll for in excess of 200 people, pensions would be adventageous as well as an understanding of Sage 50.however if you are experienced using other systems please still apply.
  • Skills: A strong eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work to strict deadlines.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
