About the role:

The Senior Business Operations Analyst will act as the deputy to the Defence Business Operations Manager, responsible for controlling successful delivery against an operational Integrated Business Plan (IBP); enabling transformation of the Business Unit operating model; and improving the efficiency and performance of the overall Defence Business Unit.

Delivering strategic and tactical activities to enable high performance whilst ensuring the Defence Business Unit operates in line with its own and the wider company's strategic goals and growth plans.

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract role.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Planning / Alignment:

  • Optimise the Business Operations function by delivering activities and projects that are required to support the efficient achievement of the strategy and objectives of the business.
  • Support the Defence Business Unit to successfully communicate its strategy, report progress and measure its outcomes in achieving long-term customer success and growth.
  • Define and control processes to proactively meet the demands of the Roke business calendar, ensuring Defence Business Unit meets the reporting demands placed upon it throughout the year.
Defence Leadership Team Support
  • Provide key support to the Business Unit Director and the wider Business Unit Senior Leadership Team in the definition and execution of strategic priorities and initiatives.
  • Drive business Governance focus into areas as identified by Business Unit leadership.
Provision of Management Information:
  • Deliver the collation, preparation and delivery of Business Unit operational performance information and analytics.
  • Co-ordinate Enterprise Risk Management process and reporting across the Business Unit, ensuring appropriate business risk assessments and mitigation actions are identified and tracked.
Operational Excellence:
  • Control the Business Unit Continuous Improvement process, ensuring progress is reported for all approved CI initiatives.
Interface with Business Services:
  • Co-ordination of all engagement between the Defence Business Unit and the other enabling directorates across Roke, including Corporate Services, Commercial & Bidding, Finance & Operations and People. Ensuring that the Defence Business Unit are supported in delivering against their strategic and operational commitments.
Resource Management:
  • Support resource management through strategic workforce and long-term capacity planning Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
  • Lead the resource managers in the assurance of the validity of resource demand data and the identification of resource supply solutions. Ensure resourcing issues are addressed and strategies developed.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential:
  • Experience driving the development of Business Operations processes through requirement definition, solution development, process documentation, rollout and benefits realisation.
  • Proactive approach and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working within a busy Business Operations environment.
  • Ability to work independently, under the general direction of the Business Operations Manager, to use available resources to deliver a clear set of business outcomes.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma continuous process improvement tools and techniques
  • Minimum of 3 years' P3M experience in customer facing organisations, preferably with experience of supporting the delivery of complex frameworks and programmes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform applications to support PMO service enhancement.

Clearances

Due to the nature of this role, we require you to be eligible to achieve SC clearance. As a result, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the U.K. for the last 5 years.
