Accounts Manager (Financial Reporting) in Southampton

You will be working for a Top 10 firm in Southampton. Their teams are partner-led and coordinated across disciplines, allowing them to provide clients with professional service and all-round advice. The team provides a range of services including external audit, finance due diligence, valuations, and payroll services to a diverse client base ranging from small businesses and startups to substantial international groups, and their client portfolio includes businesses from a variety of different industry sectors, across both private and AIM listed companies.
Your new role
They are seeking a talented individual to join their team in Southampton, responsible for the accurate processing of clients' financial data and the preparation of annual financial accounts and associated outputs there from within the timeframe agreed with the client or required by statute. Liaising with the audit team to ensure that financial statements are prepared to a high standard and on a timely basis to allow audit procedures to be completed and key deadlines met.
As an accounts manager, some of your responsibilities will be to manage a portfolio of clients, including complex financial statements (such as consolidation and IFRS); Supporting, Business Outsource Services Support (BOSS) team on researching technical queries following BOS internal and external requests, reporting findings to management via technical summaries and advising as required; training and development of junior staff including line management (staff performance, appraisals and provide feedback); Work closely with the audit and business tax teams to provide a seamless service to clients and ensure deadlines are met; Ensure quality is consistent and to a high level across all outputs; Be prepared to share ideas about how best to operate the accounts preparation process in order to improve efficiencies for the firm.
You will be ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with demonstrable audit experience gained within a professional services firm, along with proven experience of supervising others and delegation of work. You will be technically competent with a good commercial awareness along with strong communication skills (internally and directly with clients). You will also need good organisation skills and be able to work as part of a team. Knowledge of IFRS and FRS 102 standards and Companies Act.
