Electrical Engineer required for fast-growing Electrical Contractor

Location: Southampton, UK
Company: Electrical Contractor
Salary: £40,000 to £65,000 DOE

About the Company: A rapidly growing High Voltage (HV) Contractor based in Southampton, operating nationwide. They specialise in various HV and LV projects, with a particular focus on Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station design and installations. With consistent growth and ambitious plans for 2025, they are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Design and analysis of electrical systems using AM-tech software.
  • Creating detailed AutoCAD designs and drawings.
  • Developing site layouts; overlaying designs onto OS maps.
  • Determining appropriate cable sizes and other preparatory design work for various projects.
  • Conduct reviews to ensure compliance with Distribution Network Operator (DNO) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for HV and LV projects, with a focus on EV charging stations.
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Perform site surveys and integrate findings into design plans.
  • Review and approve designs in accordance with DNO regulations.

  • Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with DWG format.
  • Knowledge of AM-tech software.
  • Understanding of DNO review processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Qualifications:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in electrical design, preferably within the HV sector.
