Head of Care - Southampton - £70-75k

Do you have previous experience in overseeing a large professional team and multi services? Are you seeking your next Head of Care opportunity? Your new company
You will be working for a charity that operates in Southampton and surrounding areas.
Your new role
You will managing over 140 care staff across 3 different care operations. They operate a Home Care Division, Extra Care which is based around 4 sites and Specialist Care packages for 24/7 care.
You role would be to oversee the care services, providing line management, guidance and advice in all areas of standards legislation.

Your duties as the Head of Care will include, but not be limited to:
• Oversee the strategic development of the services including maintaining current contracts and securing new ones.
• Act as The Nominated Individual and the point of contact for the CQC.
• Operate as a member of the SMT in the implementation of senior management decisions, sharing KPIs, business goals
• Ensure The Managers maintain current knowledge of CQC compliance and cascade required information to all staff.
• Monitor staff numbers and rotas to ensure that the managers are maintaining safe numbers of support and that 1:1 additional hours are provided.
• To supervise and manage the registered Managers
• Monitor and guide the managers to maintain paperwork required under legislation, e.g. CQC framework assessment requirements, MCA, DOLs and Safeguarding.
• Regularly attend all services, to monitor standards and provide feedback to the managers as appropriate.
• Encourage communication and best practice by promoting an open environment for discussion and providing the opportunity for constructive feedback.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Significant experience in health and social care
  • Experience in leading care services which would ideally include at least one of Home Care, Extra Care and Specialist Care
  • Operational leadership skills
  • Substantial knowledge in tendering new business
  • Significant experience of CQC
  • Financial acumen
  • To act as the 'Nominated individual' and safeguarding lead for SCA Care.
