Key responsibilities: Process Development Engineer

  • Developing and optimising processes for laser-based products from concept through NPI, test and into production
  • Conducting thorough root cause analyses to identify issues within the production line
  • Develop, implement and document permanent solutions to increase yield and productivity
  • Champion lean 6 sigma and 8D methodologies to understand problems and implement corrective actions either within production or design
  • Work closely with R&D teams to redesign optical / laser systems that are fit for manufacture
  • Ownership and accountability for resolving issues, implementing and signing off defined processes to ensure quality of products and services across the business

Skills required: Process Development Engineer

  • The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that every process is refined to perfection
  • This role is ideal for those with a PhD, MSc, MPhys or MEng in optics, who are eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world applications
  • Candidates should possess a robust background in optics/laser manufacturing, with a proven track record of applying lean principles and problem-solving techniques to enhance operational efficiency
  • Experience in laser-based products or optics is essential, as is a deep understanding of process development and optimisation
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
