Job description

Brendoncare is passionate about positive ageing. As a charity, we invest in tackling issues facing older people, offering excellent care, supportive housing and welcoming community services including clubs, telephone and online support. Where possible, we co-locate our services to offer a broad range of continuous support. We measure our success in terms of impact on lives rather than profit to shareholders and are proud members of the National Care Forum for not-for profit care providers.

We are seeking a leader who will embrace and build on these innovative developments. We are looking for a strong, inspiring and empowering individual who is ambitious about supporting more older people in a range of caring, supporting or well-being scenarios. You will need the interpersonal and communication skills to lead major partnerships, funders and stakeholders across sectors. On the frontline, you will enjoy high visibility with our staff and volunteers, regularly working among older people and their families.

This is an exciting time for the charity. As we continue with our ambitious strategy, we need a leader with the commercial acumen and drive who will lead the charity forward, ensuring that our services are relevant and aspirational and who shares our excitement about the future role that Brendoncare can play in helping to address the many issues faced by all of us as we grow older.

The Candidate

  • Successful track record as Chief Executive/Senior Director delivering outstanding performance within a multisite, customer focused, complex organisation of scale.
  • Financially astute with strong commercial nous and a demonstrable background in driving cost efficiencies and income diversification.
  • Experience within the Care/Health/Charitable/Private Care Sectors would be desirable.
  • Charismatic leader, approachable to staff, residents, relatives and club members with a natural empathy for older people.
  • Strong track record in building and developing successful teams.
  • Able to effect organisational change and development, specifically leading and motivating the organisation through growth and transition.
