Job description

Plumbing and Heating Sales Development Executive

As a Sales Development Executive some of your key responsibilities will include; developing and implementing strategies to boost the plumbing and heating category, increase market share by identifying business opportunities, collaborate with branch sales teams to maintain high standards of product knowledge and service delivery.

What We re Looking For:

- 3-5 years in sales within the plumbing and heating industry or a related field.

- Strong understanding of plumbing and heating products and services.

- Knowledge of the local market and key competitors.

- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

- Results-oriented with a proactive approach to meeting sales targets and objectives.

- Strong organisational and time management skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Growth & Business Development

  • Achieving key sales targets within the P&H Sales ledger with regular monitoring and reviews to ensure sales and margin growth.
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to grow the plumbing and heating category.
  • Identify new business opportunities, target potential customers, and convert leads into sales.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Track sales performance and take necessary actions to meet and exceed targets.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Act as the main point of contact for key plumbing and heating customers.
  • Conduct regular site visits and meetings with customers to identify their needs, provide product demonstrations, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve issues, and provide after-sales support as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to maintain high levels of customer retention and loyalty.

Product Knowledge & Training

  • Stay up to date with the latest plumbing and heating products, industry trends, and market developments.
  • Organise product training sessions and demonstrations for internal staff and customers.
  • Ensure all marketing materials and promotions are effectively communicated to both internal teams and customers.

Operational Support

  • Ensure stock levels are maintained to meet customer demands.
  • Liaise with suppliers and purchasing teams to ensure the timely availability of products.
  • Coordinate special offers, promotions, and events.
  • Monitor and report on competitor activity and market positioning.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Monitor and analyse sales performance data to identify trends and opportunities for development.
  • Prepare and present sales reports to management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommended actions.
  • Use customer feedback and market insights to inform strategies.
