JobTitle: Mechanical CAD Designer

Location: Isle of Wight. We offer a range of hybrid and flexibleworking arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about theoptions for this particular role

Salary: Circa£47,000 commensurate with skills and experience

Whatyou'll bedoing:

• Working as part of a multi-functional team, thesuccessful applicant will ideally be working in a senior designerrole and have experience of using CAD software to create 2D and 3Dsolid modelled designs, for a wide range of products from smallcomponents to large complexsub-systems
Responsible for managing the engineering andmanufacturing interface through the relevant manufacturingprocesses Overseethe various production and assembly practices associated with themanufacture of equipment, identifying long-lead pieceparts Work withthe Manufacturing Technicians to consider manufacturingimprovements and, where needed, to liaise with sub-contractmanufacturers orsuppliers Take theLead Design Engineers conceptual information or component list anddevelop into a detailed design and data pack that is suitable formanufacture As thedesigns progress through the manufacturing, test, delivery andsupport lifecycle, the role holder will manage the engineeringchange for their area of responsibility against a robust changemanagement process

Yourskills and experiences:

Essential:

• Currently working in a senior designer role
Expert inthe use of 2D and 3D CAD design tools, preferably SiemensNX Experienceof designing to meet Environmental requirements (EMC, Shock andVibration) Experienceof design for manufacture and design for maintainabilitypractices A goodunderstanding of BS8888 Engineering Drawing standards (previouslyBS308) Anunderstanding of Electrical drawing practices, creation of CircuitDiagrams and Wiring Schedules under the guidance of ElectricalEngineers Competentwith Microsoft Officeapplications
