We are currently recruiting on behalf of a fantastic, charity-owned, 35 bedded elderly Care Home in Sandown who are looking for a Senior Care Assistant to join their committed team. We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals who can lead a team, solve problems, show good judgement and communicate with a wide range of people.

This friendly care home is well-established with great opportunities for progression and a strong history supporting their staff to realise their full potential. As a Senior Care Assistant you will promote high standards of care by ensuring all team members are trained and supervised appropriately and you will communicate professionally and warmly with staff and residents alike.

The successful Senior Care Assistant candidate will be patient, caring and able to provide a quality service to residents within a care home environment whilst enabling them to lead an active and independent life. Ideally Senior Carer candidates will have NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or above and be medication trained.

The care home is easily commutable by road with ample onsite parking on offer and the care home is also close to Sandown train station.

Responsibilities of a Senior Care Assistant:

  • Administer medication
  • Work collaboratively within a team of other Care Assistants and Senior Carers
  • Liaise with all visiting professionals including GPs, other healthcare professionals and families.
  • Helping to run the shift, hands on supporting the floor.

Senior Care Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a Residential Care Home or Nursing Home
  • Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or Senior Support Worker
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Medication trained
