Job description

Control & Instrumentation Project Engineer

Location: Isle of Grain

Contract duration: 12 months - Inside IR35

Onsite working ( Hybrid working to be discussed)

Belcan is currently looking for an experienced Control & Instrumentation Project Engineer

on a 12-month contract in Isle of Grain location.

You will be required to manage the below Projects

  • Fire & Gas Device Obsolescence replacements
  • Fire & Gas mapping with detailed design of new Fire & Gas Loops
  • Fire Mitigation within site building - initial Risk Assessments & remedial action plan implementation.
  • Detailed design of additional Fire / Smoke detection, Very Early Smoke Detection System (VESDA).
  • Replacement of Fiber Optic Gas Detection System(s)
  • Review and initial investigation of snuffing system renewal / replacement
  • Hazardous Area Compliance (BS EN 60079) associated with an LNG plant. This would include equipment selection, installation requirements and the subsequent engineering calculations & inspection requirements for signoff
  • Design of fire and gas systems, Specification of valves and actuators , Tank control systems

Role

Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Project Engineer will provide vital support to the TD Manager to ensure the effective administration of multiple project work scopes. The role brings oversight to the coordination of all stages of the projects, to ensure efficient delivery.

They shall:

Coordinate the development of scope of work documents including:

Engaging terminal stakeholders to capture key project requirements

Reference all available documentation to clearly articulate project requirements in concise language

Identifying the required legislation, codes, standards, and specifications to be adhered to throughout the project

List key deliverables to be produced during the design stage

Ensure effective project management controls are implemented by the design contractor

Communicate the project schedule that should be followed

Partake and lead in tender events with key nominated suppliers (via dedicated frameworks)

Implement good project management controls for all assigned projects including:

Identifying and capturing project risks on necessary project registers

Actively review the quality of all design documentation produced by awarded contractors and ensure timely review by GLNG reviewers

Facilitate and arrange stakeholder workshops/ engagement

Ensure the scope of work is fully met and all solutions are code-compliant

Understand and adhere to all necessary contractual requirements

Experience:

  • Ideally the successful candidate will have experience in Fire & Gas replacement projects with strong Control & Instrumentation project delivery background.
  • The candidate shall demonstrate a minimum of 10 years' experience working in any of the industry: LNG - Liquified Natural Gas, Oil & Gas (onshore/ offshore), Petrochemical, Utilities, Top tier COMAH sites.

Remuneration will reflect the technical nature of the role and the responsibility that it carries.
