Rikama Education Ltd. are currently working with special school in Snodland who are looking for a number of SEN Teaching Assistants to start as soon as possible for both Primary and Secondary learners, with the opportunity of a permanent role for the right candidate after the initial period.

The school offers excellent facilities on an extremely large site and educate and care for students (mixed boys and girls) aged from 4 to 19 with PMLD, Complex Needs, Mental health conditions, challenging behaviour and who are on the Autistic spectrum.

Some roles could require you to complete personal care. As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting students in across Primary and Secondary ages with a range of individual needs including PMLD mental health, ASD and challenging behaviour.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and able to manage challenging behaviour. Support on either a 1 to 1 or small group basis.

We are also looking for Child Support Workers who are caring individuals to support students in a residential setting on the school grounds.

As a Residential Support Worker you will help the school to create a caring, supportive and safe atmosphere for the students where they can enjoy learning and social activities. You will work with within a team environment and will have plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and grow your career. Skills Required for Residential Support Workers First-class communication skills are essential in the role, along with sensitivity, integrity and adaptability.

Experience of working with children and young people within a health or social care environment, including personal care and moving and handling (training can be provided for the right candidate). Working knowledge of risk assessment practice and the ability to respond effectively to differing demands when required.

Desired is experience of working with children and young adults with diverse SEN Conditions and medical needs including potentially physical needs. Previous experience in a similar role. Should you be accepted for this post, you will be rewarded by:
