Job description
Apricus Resourcing are working with a luxury nursing home based in Lancaster who are currently seeking a Night Senior Care Assistant to join their esteemed team. This role offers a competitive rate of 13.20 per hour, with the added benefit of 16.50 per hour for any overtime worked.

As a Night Senior Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to residents, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing throughout the night.
Within your role you will be providing a wide range of personal support to residents, whilst supporting and liaising with family and Management. You will be required to work with vulnerable older adults who may have dementia or other health needs. The role involves supporting the residents with daily living tasks to enable them to lead a fulfilling life and supporting them to participate in a range of activities. The role involves supervising and supporting the Care Assistants in ensuring high quality care is provided to the residents.
Key Duties
- Be a professional role model for the delivery of high-quality care.
- To promote and involve residents, and their family/friends, in decision-making.
- Ensure that care plans are evidence-based and address the needs of the resident.
- Ensure that care plans and risk assessments are kept up-to-date and completed with the team, ensuring the service provided to its residents is person-centred, safe, accurate and of high quality.
- Always work in accordance with relevant legal and ethical requirements e.g. Mental Capacity Act 2005, NICE guidelines, Health & Safety at Work etc.
- Participate in a process of change and development to improve the quality of service delivery.
- Ensuring effective interpersonal skills are used when communicating with residents, family and fellow team members.
- Ensure professional guidelines are adhered to in respect of record keeping.
- Participate in the process of supervision both as supervisor and supervisee.
- Participate in the process of individual performance review (appraisal) and personal development planning.
- Ensure that the physical and psychological wellbeing of each individual resident is the foundation of care delivery
The home operate on a 2-week fixed rota which is as follows:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in the care sector, particularly in a supervisory or senior role. A Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent is essential, alongside a compassionate nature and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care. Strong leadership skills are a must, as you will be responsible for overseeing the night care team, ensuring that all duties are carried out efficiently and effectively.
