Job description

ROLE - Senior Payroll Administrator
LOCATION - LE1, Leicester City Centre
SALARY - £27,000 - £32,000
Full Time / Permanent
Hybrid Working Available

SF are currently working with a leading independent accountancy practice to recruit for a Senior Payroll Administrator, on a Full Time/Permanent basis. They are looking for a forward-thinking, experienced individual with high attention to detail, whilst working in a fast paced environment.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Receiving payroll information from clients and processing the payroll on Sage, Xero and potentially other payroll software on a weekly, monthly, fortnightly or annual basis.
  • Checking figures calculated by the software to ensure that the correct PAYE/NI and pensions have been deducted.
  • Complying with RTI requirements including making the submissions to HMRC. Complying with automatic enrolment requirements including reviewing the payroll to ensure cyclical re-enrolment legislation is being met and making regular pension submissions to pension providers.
  • Submitting declarations and re-declarations of compliance to The Pensions Regulator.
  • Sending payroll information to clients including wages journals and other customised reports.
  • Making payments of PAYE and Pension contributions where authorised by the clients or advising clients of the liabilities to be paid.
  • Registering PAYE and Pension Schemes.
  • Dealing with client query e-mails and telephone calls. This includes being able to deal with difficult clients with tact and diplomacy.


Candidate requirements:

  • Xero / Sage knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft windows (Word & Excel)
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Skilled at dealing with people and have the ability to support and develop work colleagues.
  • Organised and deadline driven.
