Housing Support Worker Boston Reputable Charity Training & Progression Social Working Hours & Flexible Remote Working

The Organisation:

A responsible and progressive charity, aiming to provide social justice and support to vulnerable groups of people across the UK; victims of domestic violence, ex-offenders, young people, people with mental health difficulties and those struggling with substance misuse. They are a well-established organisation with a positive market reputation and over 20 years of experience in supported living.

This company are currently operating supported housing services for rehabilitating ex-offenders that have left a prison setting. The service ensures the instilling of independent living skills, positive wellbeing and personal development within ex-offenders, working towards their bettering of life and prevention of repeat offending.

The Opportunities:

  • Support Workers will be working full time:Shift pattern- Working on a rota 8am - 6pm Week 1 Tuesday - Friday Week 2 Monday - Thursdays Week 3 Thursday - Sunday
  • Competitive pay rates; Support Workers are paid £18.14 (Umbrella), per hour. You will also be paid £0.45 per mile for travel between services.
  • Contract length will be 3-6-months temp to perm
  • You will be based across multiple projects across Boston.
  • Administration work can be completed in a flexible location, with state-of-the-art IT equipment provided for all work.
  • Young people aged 16-18 or up to the age of 21 if Leaving Care.
  • This is NOT a HCA (Health Care Assistant) role.


The Responsibilities:
  • As a Support Worker, you will be required to visit each property various times each week, conducting support sessions with service users in line with the appropriate requirements.
  • Supporting clients in their accessing opportunities, as well as sign posting them to local agencies and service providers, in line with their needs.
  • Assisting clients in their ability to conduct income management and assist them in their tenancy sustainment through various methods.
  • You will be supporting young service users develop independence and get involved in activities.
  • Support Worker s will provide emotional support and monitor the wellbeing of clients living within the supported housing services.

The Requirements:
  • Support Worker s must be someone with a valid driver s license and access to a vehicle, and either already have or obtain business/commercial insurance for said vehicle.
  • Enhanced DBS (both Children & Adult barred)
  • Experience in supporting clients / service-users with complex needs is essential.
  • Proactive and able to use their own initiative to manage a caseload.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of social/supported housing processes is essential.
  • The ability to support others in their tenancy sustainment and income management.

The Desirables:
  • Relevant training to housing or health and social care.
  • Over 3 years experience within a relevant position i.e., Support Worker.
  • Understanding of housing law and framework relevant to those with complex needs.
