Job description

We are actively recruiting for a good job opportunity with an accountancy firm based in North Lincolnshire, Close to Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Brigg, who are seeking to hire a Bookkeeper. The salary is negotiable, will of course depend on experience and qualification level and is open within reason. The firm are open on hiring for either part-time or full-time hours.

We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our bookkeeping and payroll team. The role will involve processing bookkeeping and VAT returns for numerous clients across different industries from their source records using a variety of software i.e. Sage, Xero, spreadsheets etc. The candidate should have good client communication skills and previous practice experience in a similar role would be an advantage.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks may include:

  • Process and reconcile internal and client accounting transactions on Xero or other software.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns for review where required.
  • Liaise with clients as necessary to help them keep up to date with their accounting records.
  • Support Account Managers on client bookkeeping matters.
  • Preparation of financial and management information.
  • Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Bank and cash account reconciliation.
  • Supporting clients with advice in respect of management information and financial reporting.
  • Preparation of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns.
