Starting salary: £38,487 - £51,761 (+ Company car scheme/allowance)

The Field Operations team are responsible for obtaining land rights and environmental agreements for our construction teams to ensure the network develops to a smarter, more flexible system that is central to the region's journey to net zero
We have a number of exciting opportunities for enthusiastic individuals who have relevant experience and/or are qualified in a related subject i.e., Law, Agriculture, Environment.
As a Wayleave Surveyor, you will be an integral part of building the electricity network for the future and your work will be varied including:

Substation site acquisitions, disposals, rent reviews, lease renewals

Acquisition of wayleaves consents, easements and land access permissions

Negotiation and settlement of agricultural, wayleave and property loss claims

Acquisition of planning and environmental consents

Response to statutory notices.
The role requires an individual who is customer focused, highly motivated, very organised and IT literate. You will meet and communicate regularly with our grantors, customers, Land Agents, local authorities and statutory bodies, attend site meetings and share advice and technical knowledge with our colleagues and contractors.
You will be the direct point of contact for grantors and stakeholders relating to wayleave issues and will project manage the land rights requirements across multiple projects.
In addition to a two-year training plan, we will also support you in achieving membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) if required.

What qualifications and experience are desirable?

Preferably qualified to degree level, in a related subject i.e., Law, Agriculture, Property, Valuation, Environment OR a minimum of 2 A Levels / AS Levels (Grade A-C)

Full driving licence is essential - travel will be necessary across the Northern Powergrid operational area

Membership of RICS, CAAV or MRTPI is desirable but not essential

Experience of Customer Service, managing projects and negotiations are desirable
