Social Care Qualified - Children

Lincolnshire

£34,314 - £41,511

We are currently looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our Children With Disabilities team based in either Sleaford or Lincoln.

Passionate Social Workers Required

Are you looking to build long lasting relationships with children and young people and their families? Do you believe that "Putting Children First" is the key to successful outcomes for children and families? If you can answer yes to both questions, then Lincolnshire County Council may just be the place you belong.

Children with Disabilities

We believe that all disabled children matter and our aim is to support families with disabled children and young people to have ordinary lives.

Our Social Workers have manageable caseloads and work with children and families on a long term basis building long lasting relationships. As a dedicated Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing social care needs, support planning and reviewing packages of care. You'll use your knowledge and experience to manage a range of more complex cases, leading on these from start to finish when young people transfer into adult care.

We are a supportive and enabling team so there will also be the opportunity within the role to mentor less experienced staff and to support and take the lead with students on placement in the teams.

Our Team

Our children with disabilities (CWD) social work team is a county-wide but based in Lincoln and Sleaford. The team is responsible for the assessment of children and young people, aged between 0-18 years, that have severe and profound disabilities through child in need, child protection, children in care and court work.

We pride ourselves on our multi agency working including special schools, continuing health care, CAMHS, community nursing teams, our SEND team colleagues and our own dedicated Occupational Therapy team to help improve the outcomes of children's lives.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a qualified, experienced and passionate social worker to join our team. Experience with children with disabilities would be beneficial however we will provide you with the training and support you need to gain specialist knowledge. As we are a countywide time you must be able to commute across the County.

About Our Offer

We know that being a Social Worker can be challenging and often emotional but, we also know from experience that it's a very rewarding career. This is why you will be surrounded by a supportive, caring and compassionate team.

You will receive monthly formal professional and case supervision, and take part in regular reflective sessions as a service where scenarios can be brought and discussed using the Signs of Safety framework. Our managers are always on hand and our practitioners say that the informal, ad hoc supervision they receive, plus the support they get from colleagues to test out their thinking, is absolutely invaluable.

Your continued professional development will be as important to us as it is to you, and your learning and development will remain in focus, not just during your annual appraisal. Alongside our excellent in-house training offer, you will also have the opportunity to complete fully funded PQ modules.

Along with a competitive salary of £34,314 - £41,511 we also offer;

  • Flexible working policies including hybrid working and 9 day fortnight to keep a healthy work life balance

  • Career progression opportunities with an excellent learning and development offer to support your career pathway

  • A generous annual leave entitlement plus the option to buy more

  • A Contributory pension

  • Comprehensive benefits package including excellent discount schemes and cycle to work.

  • A re-location package (see attached brochure)

Further details can be found in our rewards and benefits brochure.
