Hoop Recruitment is working on behalf of one of our longest standing clients, to find a Deputy Manager for one of their services in Porthcawl. The Nursing Home is established and supported by the local community, and provides residential and nursing care to older adults.

This is an opportunity for a nurse who has a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a nursing home environment, with an understanding of processes including medication management and auditing, safeguarding and complaints handling, people development and other processes that contribute to the effective running of a nursing home.

This role will require the successful applicant to work 2 clinical shifts as nurse in charge, in addition to 2 supernumerary administrative shifts per week, to maintain and drive excellence in the service.

Working in partnership with the Nursing Home Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Auditing medication charts
  • Liaising with relevant outside bodies
  • Manage inspections and action on any recommendations
  • Deputise in the absence of the Home Manager
  • Support with the assessment of new residents
  • Performance management and development of staff team
  • Attend and lead MDT meetings
  • Supervisions and appraisals
  • Build effective working relationships with residents, staff, relatives and all agencies who have a professional interest in the service

Management experience is not necessary, but nursing experience in a nursing home is.

You will have exceptional communication skills and be able to communicate with people with warmth and kindness to encourage positive outcomes.

Essential skills needed for the role:

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC PIN
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience
  • Compassionate and kindness towards other
  • A hunger and drive to be the best version of you
  • Works well in a team environment
