Your new company
Our client is a forward-thinking and successful Contractor with an excellent reputation in the Construction world, looking to recruit an experienced Estimator on a permanent basis. Sectors included retail, education, affordable housing, commercial and industrial. Our client has an excellent pipeline of projects working with a variety of clients, specialising in construction and maintenance works.
Your new role
You'll be an experienced and accomplished Estimator and be able to bring your wealth of experience and expertise to enjoy and support the growth of the business.You will establish and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors, obtain quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame as well as assessing the risk levels associated with all projects. You will prepare and submit quotations and details of costs for work to be done, assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting the activities of buyers and monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costs.

  • Pricing from first principles
  • Overseeing Tradition and Design & Build Tenders
  • Producing tenders for submission
  • Compiling take-offs
  • Preparation of budgets, estimates and cost plans
  • Supporting with new enquiries and opportunities
  • Completing accurate bid documentation
  • Working closely with the relevant construction project teams
  • What you'll need to succeedExtensive knowledge of new build construction and refurbishment projects is essential for this role including methods, contracts and subcontract arrangement. You will have:

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
