If so, J Murphy and Sons Ltd are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our award-winning Energy team on the Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone project in Norwich. Our team is known for its extensive in-house expertise and continual drive to innovate within the industry. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will commercially manage the project daily, being at the forefront of the construction works and working closely with the operations team. The Senior Quantity Surveyor plays a key role on the project, providing support and advice to the operations team, whilst managing and reporting on significant project expenditure. The role is a site-based role but can adapt to hybrid working as per business needs. The project is one of national significance, part of the UK government s target of net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The project is located over 60km in Norfolk, from Happisburgh to Necton, with installation of approx. 360km of power cables and over 5km of horizontal direction drilling. The project spans from 2023 to 2028, providing a fantastic, once in a generational opportunity for the successful candidate to build and progress their career. What you will be doing Ensure the site team adheres to group procedures and governance. Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required. Preparation of valuations/applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract Cost monitoring, administration, and management, including accurate weekly cost reports for both internal and external resources. Monitoring and management of the project WBS and CBS coding. Weekly and monthly analysis of programme performance, including reporting on cost impacts of programme changes. Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules Preparation of subcontract agreements based on NEC4. Tender negotiation of subcontract packages of work. Subcontract management, including administration of large subcontract agreements. Undertake the contract administration, including change management, maintaining associated registers. Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities. Measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required. Who we are looking for? HND/Degree qualification. Proven experience within a Senior Quantity Surveyor role or substantial experience at Quantity Surveyor level looking for the next step. Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership. Full driving licence & flexible with travel. Effective communication within presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others. Experience within a construction/engineering/similar and commercial background.
