ARABLE FARMS OPERATIVE

A unique opportunity is available for a successful candidate to work alongside Drayton Farms Group Limited's newly appointed Farms Manager within a privately owned farming enterprise.

This agricultural holding comprises of 7 farms located across Norfolk with 2300 hectares covering arable, grazing, woodland and marsh land. At this stage the majority of the land holding is contract farmed just leaving the Drayton Land farmed in hand.

The Drayton farm grows a vast range of crops typical to our local environment and markets such as malting barley, sugar beet and oilseed rape.

We are seeking to employ a full-time arable operative to aid in the delivery of high yielding, profitable crops. We drive for and expect the best and highest standards at all times.

The full-time role requires a suitably experienced, enthusiastic and presentable individual who will thrive working autonomously in a truly empowering environment. The role offers a competitive salary with a benefits package to match. Career progression and structure training will be provided.

Reporting to: The Farms Manager

Main Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Cultivations
  • Drilling
  • Fertiliser Spreading
  • Potato Store Management
  • Delivery of CSS/SFI
  • Estate Management
  • Combining

Qualifications:

  • Rough Terrain Forklift Certificate.
  • Counterbalance Forklift Certificate.
  • PA1/2.

Although not essential as training can be provided for the right candidate

Other Certificates such as FACTS/BASIS, PA 4/6, ATV etc. would be an advantage.

  • Deep understanding of H&S.
  • High regard for machinery, maintenance, and repair.
  • Cleanliness and professionalism of machinery and yourself.
  • Good administration.
  • Confident Communicator.
  • Sense of humor.
  • Willingness to work long hours when required.
  • A range of interests outside of agriculture.
  • A desire for a good work/life balance.
