Duties & Responsibilities of a Contracts Manager:

  • Leading and managing a team of Project Managers and Site Managers, ensuring effective project execution and adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborating closely with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Overseeing contract negotiations and administration, managing risk and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Monitoring project progress, conducting regular site visits, and addressing any issues or challenges promptly.
  • Managing project finances, including cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Implementing effective project management methodologies and best practices to optimize project performance and efficiency.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.

Desirable Experience & Qualification of a Contracts Manager:

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within a main contracting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry practices, contracts, and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire project teams.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Sound financial acumen, with experience in project budgeting, cost control, and profitability analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field are desirable but not essential.
