Job description

We are seeking skilled and experienced Fire Door Carpenters to join our team operating across the Norfolk area This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and weekly pay. As a Fire Door Carpenter, you will be responsible for the installation of fire doors in various settings, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation of Fire Doors: Accurately install fire doors according to manufacturer specifications and legal requirements, ensuring they meet the necessary fire safety standards.
  • Site Assessment and Preparation: Conduct thorough site assessments to plan and prepare for door installation, including any necessary adjustments to existing structures.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as part of a two-person team, with each fitter responsible for the installation of one door per assignment. Collaborate effectively to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on installed doors to verify functionality, alignment, and compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Customer Interaction: Engage professionally with clients and site managers, addressing any questions or concerns regarding the installation process.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of work completed, including materials used and time spent on each project.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself, your team, and the clients.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in carpentry, specifically in the installation of fire doors.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire door regulations and standards (e.g., BS 8214, Building Regulations Part B).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the designated Norfolk area
