Care Home Unit Manager
Location: Watton, Norfolk
Salary: 50,000 per year

About the Role:
A well-established care home in Watton, Norfolk, is looking for a dedicated Unit Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will assist the Home Manager with day-to-day operations and work closely with a skilled team of nurses and carers, ensuring top-quality service and a compassionate environment for residents. This role emphasises the highest standards of nursing and clinical care.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Home Manager to establish effective clinical governance, policies, and procedures in line with NMC and NICE guidelines.
  • Mentor and support nursing staff and carers, offering coaching on best practices, including medication management, wound care, and regular resident health assessments.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and that care plans align with each resident's individual needs, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Regularly monitor clinical care standards, identifying improvement areas and implementing changes to enhance care quality.
  • Work alongside the Home Manager to foster a positive work environment that promotes staff engagement, development, and learning.
  • Serve as a role model to staff, demonstrating high standards of clinical practice and providing strong leadership.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Proven experience as a Nurse Manager or in a similar leadership role in the care sector.
  • Friendly and approachable personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented with strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Strong clinical expertise with a focus on person-centred care.
  • Effective under pressure, with strong prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient IT skills with experience managing electronic records.
Education and Qualifications:
  • NMC Registered Nurse with relevant post-registration experience.
