English Teacher - Mainstream Secondary School - Full-Time - Permanent - Paid To Scale - JANUARY START

Hays is on the lookout for a dedicated English Teacher to join a 'Good' Ofsted-rated mainstream secondary school. The successful candidate will teach English to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, fostering a love of literature and language.

Qualifications and Experience:• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Degree in English, English Literature, or a related field.
• Experience teaching English up to Key Stage 5.
• Previous teaching experience in a secondary school setting is preferred.

Teaching and Learning:

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons.

Create lesson plans and schemes of work aligned with the national curriculum.

Use a variety of teaching methods to suit different learning styles.

Student Support:

Track and assess student progress.

Encourage students to read, write, and discuss.

Offer extra help to students who need it.

Classroom Management

Create a positive and well-organised classroom.

Manage student behaviour effectively using school rules.

Build a respectful and inclusive learning environment.

Extracurricular Activities

Run English clubs, competitions, and events.

Encourage students to explore literature and language outside of class.
