Job Title: Senior Support Worker (or Deputy)

Accountable To: Residential Manager

Location: Northampton NN6

Salary: £26,520 - £30,000 per annum (DOE)

Liaises With: Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, Care Workers, Educational and multi-disciplinary teams across the organisation, external providers, and partnership organisations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Inspire: Provide day-to-day care and support for young people, guiding them through activities, education, and statutory meetings.
  • Team Leadership: Lead shifts and manage a care team, ensuring a therapeutic approach is maintained.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure the welfare and safety of young people, maintaining high standards of care.
  • Operational Excellence: Assist in operating within legal parameters as described in the company s policies and procedures.
  • Holistic Development: Support the business, clinical, and social development of the service.

Must-Haves:

  • NVQ Level 3: Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent relevant residential experience.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in written and spoken English for record-keeping and report writing.
  • Experience: Working with young people aged 12 to 17 with challenging behaviours, shift leading, and supervising care staff.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the problems faced by children and young people, and the effects of abuse and depression.
  • Driver s License: Valid and up-to-date.
