Energy Data & Insight Analyst

Consult Energy are working with a leading Energy consultancy who are committed to driving sustainable energy solutions and optimising energy usage. I am seeking an experienced Energy Data & Insight Analyst that can help turn complex data into actionable insights that will drive efficiencies and innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Energy Data & Insight Analyst, you will:

  • Analyse and interpret energy data to provide actionable insights for improving efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor energy consumption patterns across multiple sites/clients and identify areas for optimisation.
  • Develop and maintain data models and dashboards to report on energy usage, carbon emissions, and other key performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis on energy trends, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Support the development of energy-saving initiatives, working with technical teams to identify and quantify potential savings.
  • Utilise advanced analytics tools and software (such as SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau) to extract, process, and visualise data.
  • Stay up-to-date with energy market trends and regulatory changes to provide forward-thinking insights.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and clients, both verbally and in detailed reports.
Key Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in a similar energy data analyst role, ideally within the energy, utilities, or sustainability sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of energy systems, tariffs, and regulations in the UK.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or R.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and present them in a clear, actionable format.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with energy management systems (EMS), carbon reporting, and forecasting techniques.
  • A passion for sustainability and driving positive change in the energy sector.
