Established in 2001, the charity was set up by parents who could not find the services they and their children with learning difficulties and or Autism required. Initially developed to provide fun activities during the school holidays for children with profound learning disabilities and or autism, over the years the charity has grown and developed to include day services for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. Their vision is to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism across Hull and the East Riding.

Being a values driven charity they aim to support the individual needs of young people, adults and their families through the provision of high quality day services. FiND enables all users to improve their quality of life, achieve a greater level of independence, learn to manage their emotional health & well-being, engage in their community and access community resources.


The Role

As the Head of Services, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing staff and resources, driving growth and ensuring the overall success of the organisation. Duties will include:

  • Working collaboratively to proactively create transformative change within the organisation.
  • Managing the effective recruitment, induction and training of the staff team.
  • Working with the Leadership Team to develop and implement innovative ideas and solutions to promote the service to the wider community.
  • Attending meetings and events to assist with and promote fundraising and income generation.
  • Becoming an advocate for safeguarding within FiND.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have significant leadership and management experience and an understanding of the principles of high-quality person centred care. The role requires outstanding organisational, communication, and leadership skills and an ability to develop innovative solutions that push boundaries.

With experience of HR and employment practices, you should be up to date with current legislation and have the ability to plan, organise and prioritise work in an environment which may have conflicting pressures and demands.

We are looking for someone with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the challenges facing disabled people, and a demonstrable ability to bring your leadership skills to positively address these issues.
