Location: Remote with travel

Salary: 63,000 + Bonus

A leading care home provider is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Support Manager to join its growing team. With a competitive salary of 63,000 + bonus, this role is ideal for someone looking to make a significant impact in the healthcare sector. The position involves extensive travel and peripatetic management, offering the opportunity to oversee multiple care homes, ensuring high standards of care, compliance, and commercial success.

Role Overview:
The Operational Support Manager will play a critical role in supporting Home Managers across a designated region. Acting as a key point of contact, this individual will provide guidance and operational leadership to ensure each home meets regulatory and company standards. The successful candidate will also step in to manage homes directly in the absence of Home Managers due to annual leave, sickness, or vacancies, ensuring continuity of high-quality care.
The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and leadership, with a focus on developing staff, driving performance, and maintaining a positive and collaborative working environment. This is a hands-on position, perfect for someone with clinical expertise and a deep understanding of the commercial and operational aspects of managing care homes.

Key Responsibilities:
Take on peripatetic management responsibilities in the absence of Home Managers, ensuring seamless operations.
Collaborate with Home Managers to ensure care homes comply with regulatory standards and achieve excellent quality ratings.
Work closely with the Regional Operations Manager to meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) and manage budgets effectively.
Provide operational guidance on day-to-day clinical and commercial aspects, ensuring homes are both care-driven and commercially successful.
Lead on staff development, ensuring that teams are well-supported and capable of delivering high standards of care.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and assist in addressing operational issues in collaboration with the estates team.
Regularly review and update home action plans, ensuring all actions are followed up and completed.
Conduct regular quality audits to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans accordingly.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, CCGs, and regulators.

Skills & Experience Required:
Qualified Nurse with a current PIN is essential.
Demonstrable experience in clinical leadership within a care setting, with a focus on compliance, quality improvement, and operations.
Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and experience working closely with CQC or similar bodies.
Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and operational challenges effectively.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with local stakeholders, commissioners, and regulatory bodies.
Ability to travel extensively across multiple care home locations, with flexibility to manage homes on a temporary basis.
