BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting an experienced Strategic Communications and Marketing Manager to help shape our bought and earned content and bring to life key partnerships across the division. This position will involve a mixture of working from home and any UK & Ireland office location. BAM operates a flexible working policy.

The role is part of the Communications function within the BAM UK & Ireland Division. This team drives awareness, understanding and engagement across our diverse audiences. We use insight, knowledge and analysis of our business and our people to engage them with our work and our products and services in the most impactful and effective way. We lead the development of our brand and use our expertise to tell inspiring stories to enhance our reputation, build relationships, engage our staff and demonstrate our impact.

Your mission

As the Strategic Communications and Marketing Manager, you will be a key decision-maker within our external communications team. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement effective strategies for sponsored and partner content. You will identify and collaborate with suitable publications and partners to enhance BAM's brand presence, ensuring our message reaches the right audiences in the most impactful way. The role will be an integral part of the External Communications team and work closely with customer-facing the Client Accounts and Marketing team.


Main Responsibilities
• Strategy Development: Create and implement comprehensive strategies for sponsored and partner content that align with BAM s overall objectives.
• Develop plans and campaigns: Develop plans and campaigns from recruitment, to specific sectors including rail and energy which support our divisional strategy.
• Publication and Partner Identification: Research and identify appropriate publications and partners, industry bodies that can enhance BAM s brand visibility in the UK and Ireland markets.
• Brand differentiation: Partner with the business areas offering the greatest potential for brand differentiation and develop the strategic campaigns which support the business strategy.
• Relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with external publications and partners, negotiating terms that maximise value and impact.
• Content Creation and Management: Develop, approve and distribute bespoke campaigns which align to our overall business goals and objectives and build increased awareness of cross-divisional capabilities with key target audiences.
• Channel management: Manage our paid for and earned content across key channels and develop bespoke plans which align with our divisional priorities, strategy and communications and marketing plans.
• Performance Metrics: Develop and use key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sponsored content campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior leaders and budget holders, using data-driven insights to persuade and align them with proposed strategic communications plans.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the external communications team and the client accounts and marketing team to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to all activities.
• Market Trends: Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities by working closely with the customer-facing Client Accounts and Marketing team, and Head of Market Insights, and identify emerging opportunities in the media landscape to keep BAM s strategies relevant and effective.
• Own the UK & Ireland website: Own the development of the BAM UK and Ireland website curating content which will drive increased traffic and engagement aimed at raising the profile of BAM s brand, capability and deliverables, ensuring value can be demonstrated through engagement and workflow.

Required Skills and Experience
• Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in a strategic content, communications and/or marketing role, preferably within a large or complex organisation.
• Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing beneficial agreements with external partners.
• Data-Driven: Strong understanding of metrics and the ability to use data to influence decision-making and strategy.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results.
• Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders.
• Market Insight: Deep understanding of the media landscape and market trends in the UK and Ireland.
