QHSE Officer

Mansfield, Nottinghamshire

This position is part time position 28 - 32 hours per week to suit individual needs, salary £35,000, plus death in service, pension scheme, Christmas vouchers.

The QHSE Officer will be responsible for maintaining and executing quality, environmental & health and safety standards, along with maintaining the QHSE systems that are already in place, with a focus on maintaining compliance to ensure adherence to company and customer standards are achieved. Please note you will need to have a clean driving license and your own transport as to will be required to cover another site in the Nottingham area also.

The specific areas the proposed candidate will be responsible for are detailed below.

QHSE Officer duties:

  • Maintain the company's policies & procedures which are part of an integrated Management System in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards.
  • Monitoring the quality, environmental & health and safety performance across the business.
  • Report status of QHSE compliance requirements to the Leadership Team.
  • Ensure risk assessments are carried out and safe working procedures are implemented.
  • Develop a positive health and safety culture.
  • Conduct regular proactive safety inspections.
  • Provide guidance and advice to management on QHSE requirements.
  • Ensure health and safety equipment (e.g. PPE) is in place and used.
  • Assess training requirements and arrange training.
  • Maintain training matrix & records.
  • Accident and incident investigation and reporting.
  • Respond to environmental & health and safety related complaints or issues.
  • Review, investigate & correct product non-conformance issues.
  • Monitor manufacturing & production processes to ensure that they meet the required standards.
  • Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  • Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports.
  • Measure performance and identify any areas of weakness, recommending and implementing improvements.
  • Liaise with other managers and staff and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve the desired QHSE standards.
