We're on the hunt for a dynamic and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join a team on a permanent, full-time basis in Nottingham. You'll be working within a specialist acute PICU inpatient service, renowned for its innovative, high-quality care that helps patients on their journey to recovery and re-engagement with the community.

The service offers care packages that cater to the individual needs of the patients, taking pride in their ability to manage behaviours that lead to distress, supported by their robust team of psychologists and occupational therapists.

The multidisciplinary team excels in positive behavioural support planning, enabling patients to develop new strategies to cope with distress and trauma. The facility comprises of 2 wards, providing acute and psychiatric treatment to adults experiencing varying phases of mental illness. They welcome admissions from a wide range of clinical settings, including other mental health inpatient wards and accident and emergency departments, ensuring continuity of care and minimal disruption for patients and their loved ones.

To be considered for this role, you MUST hold a CCST/CCT or equivalent in the relevant areas of psychiatry

You'll be taking clinical responsibility for patients, participating in multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, and strategic reviews, all while developing a therapeutic environment. You'll act as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983), supervise referral and admission processes, and offer your psychiatric expertise to the team. Additionally, you'll contribute to management and clinical governance meetings, help develop service strategies, and provide in-house training and supervision, especially to junior medical staff. Your commitment to professional development and ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team will be key.
