Pay:
- (PAYE) 11.44 Mon-Fri, 11.94 Nights & Saturday, 13 Sunday & Bank Holiday
- (Umbrella) 13.10 Mon-Fri, 13.40 Nights & Saturday, 15 Sunday & Bank Holiday
Contract:
- Temporary Adhoc Shifts
Hours:
- Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
Environment:
- Working in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, or community care environments.
Job Summary:
As a Healthcare Assistant (HCA), you will support patients with daily activities and provide essential care under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals. This role involves working closely with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare staff to ensure high-quality care is provided to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Help patients with mobility and movement, including lifting and transferring.
- Monitor patients' conditions by taking vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
- Assist in feeding patients who require help with eating and drinking.
- Ensure patients are comfortable and provide emotional support.
- Help with bed-making, tidying patient areas, and ensuring a clean environment.
- Assist nurses with basic clinical tasks such as wound care, applying dressings, and monitoring patient health.
- Prepare medical equipment and assist in routine medical procedures.
- Accurately document patient care activities and observations.
- Report any concerns or changes in a patient's condition to the supervising nurse.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education-
- GCSEs or equivalent; NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is preferred.
Experience-
- Previous experience in a healthcare or care home setting is advantageous but not always required.
Skills-
- Compassionate, caring, and empathetic nature.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and under supervision.
Physical Requirements-
- Good physical stamina; ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
