Job description

Are you a skilled CFD Engineer or Aerodynamicist with a passion for thermodynamics and aerodynamic development? Do you have experience delivering high-quality projects and developing best practices in CFD and aero toolsets? If so, we want to hear from you.

As a CFD / Thermal Analysis Engineer, you will become an integral part of the engineering team. You will support or lead aerodynamic and thermodynamic development projects, collaborating closely with clients and internal departments.

Your responsibilities as a CFD / Thermal Analysis Engineer:

  • Deliver projects with the support of project leads, working independently to set project outlines and targets.
  • Generate detailed reports of work carried out, including conclusions and next steps.
  • Lead or support aero strategy on allocated projects, producing high-quality reports and presenting analyses to the CFD-Aero department and clients.
  • Contribute to innovative engineering solutions for continuous improvement of departmental capabilities, tools, and processes.
  • Collaborate with clients to analyse systems and propose tailored solutions aimed at improving energy efficiency.
  • Generate and refine CAD schemes for new aerodynamic designs.

Your current experience which will help you as a CFD / Thermal Analysis Engineer:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, applying thermodynamics, physics, and technology creatively to solve diverse problems.
  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent, with a 2:1 classification or better.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (NX or Rhino3d desirable), Computational Fluid Dynamics (OpenFOAM preferred), and aerodynamics applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality presentations and reports.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to form strong relationships with peers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages especially Excel for data analysis and simulation.

What you can expect as a CFD / Thermal Analysis Engineer:

  • £35k - £45k salary, dependent on experience.
  • Company pension.
  • Holiday allowance: 28 days.
  • Hybrid or remote working.
