Job description

Estate Manager
Oxford

65,000 - 70,000 plus benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estate Manager to join a global managing agent, overseeing a vast and complex estate in Oxford. This role is ideal for someone with a strong engineering background or significant knowledge in hard services management, with a preference for candidates who have experience managing property in the laboratory or pharmaceutical environments.

As the Estate Manager, you will ensure the seamless operation of the estate services, including maintenance, compliance, and contractor management. You'll be the key point of contact for tenants, managing a mix of high-tech spaces and laboratories to ensure both safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the estate's hard & soft services, including planned and reactive maintenance for a highly regulated site.
  • Collaborate closely with tenants, contractors, and the in-house team to ensure exceptional service levels.
  • Manage and maintain compliance with all HSE and regulatory requirements, particularly those specific to lab and pharmaceutical environments.
  • Coordinate and manage external service providers, ensuring high standards in service delivery.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Monitor and control the estate service charge budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits, identifying and addressing any potential issues proactively.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Background in engineering (mechanical/electrical) or robust hard services knowledge.
  • Experience managing estates within laboratory or pharmaceutical environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of HSE legislation, compliance standards, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Proven experience managing budgets, contracts, and complex building systems.

If you are an experienced Estate Manager with a technical edge and a dedication to maintaining top standards in hard services, we would love to hear from you.
