Position: Building Services Engineer
Location: Nuclear Defence Site, Berkshire
Contract: 12 months, Full-time, On-site
Pay Rate: 600 per day (Outside IR35)
Security Clearance: Must have active SC Clearance
Start Date: ASAP

Overview
We are looking for an experienced Building Services Engineer to join our team at a high-security Nuclear Defence site in Berkshire. In this role, you'll be responsible for the design and coordination of critical building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. This position requires close collaboration with architects, contractors, and engineers to ensure all building services meet safety, regulatory, and project-specific standards. Previous MOD or Nuclear site experience is highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Develop mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring efficient, safe, and sustainable solutions for building projects.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct site assessments to confirm compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with architects, contractors, and engineers to integrate building services within the overall building design.
  • Project Documentation: Prepare detailed specifications and technical drawings for building services projects using CAD and other design tools.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Technical Support: Offer technical guidance to engineers and technicians on building services systems.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in building services engineering, with previous MOD or Nuclear site experience preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient in MEP systems, including HVAC, lighting, and power distribution.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of building codes, fire-stopping requirements, and sustainable practices.
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in CAD and other engineering design tools.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and communication skills.
