Job title: Initial Airworthiness Engineer -Delivery

Salary: £46,426+ depending on skills andexperience
Whatyou'll be doing:
- Independentairworthiness assurance activity of design certification(qualification and safety) evidence in support of airworthinesscertification for Development, Production and Export clearanceprogrammes Airworthiness focal point foragreeing flight limitations with System Design Responsibilityteams, Flight Operations and the externalcustomers Establishing and producing FlightCertification (Military Permit to Fly) for Development andProduction Aircraft Establishing and producing FlightCertification (Release to Service) for ExportCustomers Independent airworthinessassurance activity for emergent flight safety issues affectingDevelopment aircraft, resulting in the issue of Flight SafetyProcedures (Additional Flight Limitations/Flight Safety Messages)to BAES Partner Companies and their operators Supporting continuous developmentof BAE Systems and flight certification and design certificationprocesses Supporting and representingAirworthiness at Typhoon/Tornado/Hawk/FCAS project meetings,including support to external customermeetings Establishing and delivering theengineering activities using systems integration, systemsengineering techniques Sustaining the initial integrityof Air products through production challenge and review of design,certification and assurance evidence (including product datarequirements) in line with market legislation and regulatoryobligations Validation and challenge of theinitial evidence through professional judgement and constructivefeedback, performance of audit and assurance activities, includinginvolvement in design and phase review assessments (asappropriate) Recovery of the integrity of Airproducts through investigation, root cause analysis, technicalinstruction (using technical writing skills) and advising ofpotential design change Exploitation of learning acrossAir and other BAE Systems Units, Customers and Suppliers usingappropriate alerting, lessons learnt and promotionalprocesses
- HND/HNC/Degree orequivalent in a STEM subject or equivalent relevantexperience Aircraft Avionic and Mechanicalsystems design and Aerodynamic disciplinesunderstanding Design configuration controlprocesses experience Design certification(qualification and safety) and Airworthinessprocesses Analytical methods to supportestablishing integrated aircraft level flightlimitations

The team coverscurrent and future aircraft development activities assuring thetype airworthiness of the product and its release into serviceacross all Customers.
