Part Time Assistant Financial Accountant, Telford

Your new company
Hays are working exclusively with a prestigious and diverse business who are looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join their team on a part time basis.

Your new role
You will be working closely with the Accountant, your duties will include:

Alongside the Accountant to develop and implement improved month end and year end reports and processes

Prepare month end and year end reports, analysing transactions and preparing required journals within agreed timescales.

Cashflow Management

Approving monthly and quarterly VAT returns prepared by Accounts Assistant in time for submission.

Completing account reconciliations to review and clear balance sheet control accounts on a monthly basis, including payroll and inter-entity loans

Managing Tax payments including Income, Inheritance, Corporation and Capital Gains Tax.

Budgeting & Forecasting - Assisting the Accountant with budgeting for each entity, as well as helping to re-forecast financial predictions where necessary.

Supporting the transactional processing team with queries such as coding and reconciliation.

Driving continuous improvement within your own areas of responsibility.

Providing general assistance to the Accountant e.g. running reports as required, calculating and posting journals, analysis work and ad hoc project work.

Any other duties as requested from time to time.

What you'll need to succeed
Our client is looking for an experienced member of staff who is ideally AAT or above or QBE (but not essential) with experience of month end processes and confident in accounting principles. You should have excellent attention to detail, work efficiently on your own initiative and work well within a team. Due to location, your own transport would be beneficial.
