Deputy MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer)

A multi-award-winning financial technology company recognized for its 5-star service platform is seeking a Deputy MLRO to support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer in the development, implementation, and maintenance of their organization's anti-money laundering (AML) efforts. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks associated with money laundering and financial crime within the wealth management sector. This is a hybrid role based in Bath and comes with an attractive pay rate of up to £750 per day (inside IR35) for a 6 month duration.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the MLRO in ensuring compliance with AML regulations
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and review existing policies and procedures
  • Oversee transaction monitoring systems and ensure timely reporting of suspicious activity
  • Develop and deliver AML training programs for staff
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure a cohesive approach to AML compliance
  • Maintain accurate records of all AML activities
  • Serve as a point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors
  • Stay updated on emerging AML trends, regulations, and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional qualifications such as CAMS, ICA, or equivalent are preferred
  • Experience in AML compliance, ideally within the wealth management or financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of AML laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in AML software and monitoring systems
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Day-to-day:The Deputy MLRO will be responsible for assisting the MLRO in ensuring compliance with AML regulations, conducting risk assessments, overseeing transaction monitoring systems, developing AML training programs, maintaining accurate records, and staying updated on emerging AML trends and regulations.
