The Opportunity

Our client, a leader in the Defence & Security sector, is looking for an Engineering Resource Analyst to join their dynamic and growing team.

The Engineering Resource Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day resourcing operations, supporting the Engineering Department in recruiting and allocating resources to meet programme commitments.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering demand data across the UK business.
  • Accumulate engineering supply forecasts to meet projected forward loads.
  • Work with Programmes and Engineering to facilitate resource prioritisation and allocation.
  • Identify process improvement areas to reduce inefficiencies in resource management.
  • Develop management information using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, JIRA and QlikSense.
  • Align future engineering resourcing with business development and financial management teams.
  • Improve engineering productivity by accurate resourcing information and recommending visibility improvements.
  • Oversee onboarding and personal induction plans for engineers.
  • Track training and development needs for engineers.


Qualifications / Skills Required

A dynamic, professional engineer, you will have:

  • A higher diploma or bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in managing resources within a complex organisation.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exposure to project scheduling and project management.
  • Experience with advanced business reporting tools (Power BI, MS Excel).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Experience working under tight time constraints.
  • Desirable: Experience in an Agile project management environment.
  • Desirable: JIRA and/or QlikSense experience, including data manipulation and dashboard production.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with internal customers.
  • Strong organisational and self-management skills.
  • Great people and stakeholder management skills, alongside excellent report writing and attention to detail.
  • Ability to cooperate well with others and work independently on own initiative.
  • A curious nature and critical thinking ability.
  • Full driving licence. This role may require occasional travel across Ultra sites.
