Technician (Extrusion Blow moulding)

  • Job Type: Full-time (Rotating Shifts)

We are seeking a technician to provide technical support within a manufacturing unit. The role involves carrying out tool changes, machine setting, and ensuring the production of quality items that meet company standards. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor and will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency and safety of the manufacturing process.



Day to Day of the Role:

  • Carry out tool changes and settings for plastics moulding machinery, including Extrusion Blow moulding or Injection Moulding.
  • Conduct fault finding on machinery, identifying mechanical faults, setup issues, ancillary equipment settings, and production quality issues.
  • Report machine stoppages and faults to the Supervisor and raise maintenance work orders as necessary.
  • Perform regular safety checks on all machines and equipment, addressing any non-compliance.
  • Complete quality control checks every 2 hours and ensure all production checks and documentation are accurately filled out.
  • Conduct Post-Production Quality Checks in accordance with work instructions.
  • Discuss and implement corrective actions when products do not meet specifications.
  • Ensure tool changes, colour changes, and other adjustments are carried out following training procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain machines running correctly and safely according to the programme and with the correct materials.
  • Perform line clearances at every changeover in line with company procedures.
  • Keep the work area safe, clean, and tidy during and at the end of the shift.
  • Adhere to all company procedures, especially regarding Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a technical role within a manufacturing environment, preferably with plastics moulding machinery.
  • Ability to identify and resolve mechanical faults and production issues.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and quality control processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with supervisors and maintenance staff.
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating shift basis.
