Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of Historians? We are assisting to appoint a History Teacher, to support secondary schools in the Ipswich area on a day-to-day supply basis.

About the role

The desired History Teacher will inspire students about historical past and support students to develop their critical thinking skills, helping them to understand how historical events have shaped the world we live in today. With History lessons providing an environment for students to develop their analytical and debating skills, the ideal History Teacher will demonstrate great behaviour and class management and will be a confident communicator. The successful candidate will have experience of working within a school environment and be comfortable supervising pupils across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), providing support to staff absence. Delivering pre-planned lessons, this is a fantastic opportunity for History Teachers with a range of experience.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of History Supply Teacher - September Start you will:

  • Have experience working in a secondary setting
  • Have or working towards QTS
  • Hold a degree qualification in a related field
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills
  • Be a confident communicator, able to use your own initiative when required
  • Have/or willing to pay for and Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Be passionate about professional development to stay up-to-date with relevant teaching methods

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Have or working towards QTS
