Salary: £37,980 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 08:15 - 15:45
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a KS3 Science Teacher to join our close-knit team at Wetheringsett Manor School located in Suffolk.
About the role
- To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Headteacher.
- To teach a range of subjects as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school's curriculum.
- In consultation with the Deputy Head, undertake other identified areas of responsibility as necessary to ensure effective delivery of the school's curriculum.
- Look to expand the "live Sciences" curriculum to enhance pupils understanding of the world we live in.
Knowledge and Understanding
- The school's vision, aims, priorities, targets, curriculum policies and action plans;
- Any statutory curriculum requirements and the requirements for assessment, recording and reporting of pupils' attainment and progress;
- The characteristics of high-quality teaching and the main strategies for improving and sustaining high standards of teaching, learning and achievement for all pupils;
- Management, including employment law, equal opportunities legislation, personnel, external relations, finance and change;
- The implications of the code of practice of special educational needs for teaching and learning.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
- To teach primarily Science to KS3 pupils but also a variety of general subjects across the national curriculum to students aged between 11-16 at other times.
- To be a form tutor for students to support them in their education.
- To assist with some vocational qualifications in the afternoon sessions.

About the School
Wetheringsett Manor School is a new independent day SEMH School for up to 42 pupils aged 11-18. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.
Wetheringsett Manor School has gone through significant refurbishment and is based in Suffolk, East Anglia and opened to pupils in November 2020. The Manor House is located in 17 acres of parkland with wooded boundaries and sits on the edge of the village of Wetheringsett. The accommodation also provides several other buildings including a converted stable block, a cottage and two industrial units.
We pride ourselves in steering pupils in the right direction, nurturing aspiration to progress them both academically and socially to encourage them to take pride in their achievements. Socially, we build confidence in our students, so they are able to have a greater understanding of the wider community in which they live.
